The picture quality and size is perfect for what i need (42-inch, general everyday use), and I am very happy with this TV. I looked around quite a lot, and of course, there are TV's that are better in picture quality (smart TV), but they are also much more expensive. For the price, this TV is worth every penny. Looks slick, and even on a stand (rather than wall mounted), it takes up minimal space. The TV has all I need for my purposes, The TV's sound quality is pretty good although I have mine hooked up to a BOSE surround system - no problem with the audio jacks on the rear.The set looks good, although a bit wobbly on supplied stand but I will be wall mounting mine soon so no problem - LG recommend screwing it down, I certainly would if you have small kids (or a clumsy big one!). Looking forward to trying it out with Blue Ray - when I get the missus to let me buy one! In that respect this TV really excels, even by today's standards.Before I go on, I would just like to say that the picture quality on this TV is outstanding. When you mess around with the settings enough you find that it gives you really vivid and crisp quality images. I play my Xbox 360 on it and am chuffed with how great everything looks compared to before (and I was previously using it on a 2 year old 42" LG HDTV). I also hooked up my phone through the USB port on the TV and tested out some movies and pictures and was amazed at the clarity I'm seeing now.
